Catholic baptism is a first step into the Sacramental life of the Church. St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church wants to make this experience for you and your family something to remember. Baptism at St. Francis or St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Enid:
1. Families having their children baptized must attend a Baptismal Seminar. Godparents are encouraged to attend if possible, parents are required. Parents must be registered parishioners, living in Enid or surrounding areas. If you are a member of a parish outside the boundaries of Enid, you must provide a letter from you pastor with permission to be baptized here and that you are Catholics in good standing.
2. Godparents: Must be 16 years of age, a Catholic in good standing with the Church, completed the Sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation, if married must be married in the Catholic Church. If one of your Godparents is non-Catholic, they cannot be an official Godparent, but can serve as a Christian Witness along with the Catholic Sponsor. One God-parent must be Catholic. If Godparents are from outside the parish boundaries, they must provide a letter from their Pastor stating they are Catholics in good standing.
